Story of Planescape: Hellbound

The Astral Plane, a conduit between the vast Multiverse that awaits travellers beyond their own home plane. It is here that our story takes place, it is here that the latest chapter of the Blood War will begin to unfold, and it is here where we discover the devious plots the Githyanki have set in motion. Amongst the debris of a dead god holds a city that has become a quickly growing place of trade and travel. Welcome to the city known as the Lord of Trades, Welcome to Planescape: Hellbound.

Our story starts us amongst a region of the Astral Plane known as the Astral Drifts. A region were large amounts of rocks and other rumble drift and tumble with everlasting endurance. A trading ship is navigating its way through the rumble towards the Lord of Trades, fully loaded with various cargo that is imported into the thriving city; cargo ranging from food to passengers. A common route this ship takes, a route many other ships have taken. Unfortunately this time something amongst the debris watch the vessel, bidding its time before the strike.

"Hard right Mister Bridges! The last thing I want to see is my boat become a permanent resident," the stout Captain Charles bellows out to his rather sniveling navigator. "We are near a thought's grasp to the Lord of Trades, need not falter now..." the Captain's voice becomes rather gloomy as he turns on heel, he can sense the tension, he can feel something is definitely wrong.

Retreating to his cabin, the Captain begins polishing his prized collection of swords. The Astral Plane can get the best of him sometimes; never knowing how long it takes to reach a place you've gone to half a dozen times before. It all depends on the will of reaching there, and this time its taking what seems like ages. He misses his old navigator; a savvy lad with a good belly for drinking. "Course he can never beat a dwarf." the Captain says to himself after moment of remembering. This new one, it is as though the bastard is always on edge, like he is waiting for someone to smack him on the back and tell him to stand aside, always looking around like someone is going to come out and nowhere too.

Meanwhile the navigator Mister Bridges, a skinny human with a slight twitch in one eye and wild hair mans the ship's wheel, turning it ever so delicately as to pass the rocks and rumble. The navigator glances cautiously, suddenly turning around rapidly as though he was just scared. After a moment of rapid looks and gazes he directs himself back to the ship's wheel where he ends up forcing to make a hard left to avoid an incoming rock. The entire boat groans and tilts leftward, from within his cabin Captain Charles can be heard yelling out his name. "You'll get yours..." Bridges spits out towards the deck; grinning rather widely as he settles the boat off from its tilt.

Without another moments pass the sounds of crossbow bolts flying through the Astral is heard and another second later the piercing of wood and collapsing of several crew members who were working upon the main deck. Mister Bridges quickly ducks and takes cover as two Githyanki skiffs appear from behind some of the debris. The crew of the skiffs consisting of two Githyanki, one navigating the other standing on the deck armed with a crossbow. The Githyanki attackers are quick at and skilled at taking down the crew. Mister Bridges squeels out when one of crewmen falls down beside him; a bolt in the forehead.

A Massive Githyanki Raider vessel soon appears from behind the cargo ship, dozens of Githyanki standing upon its deck. One particular Githyanki stands out above them all. He is garbed in a wrapped cloak, various feathers adorn his head, and a shining silver sword strapped to his back. Githyanki begin to board the cargo ship and the door to the Captain's Cabin swings open, the sound of a pistol's shot echos through the Astral and one of the Githyanki on the deck is blown down.

Captain Charles yells out as he comes out with a pistol in one hand and a scimitar in the other ,"Get off my boat you bloody bastards!" Charles manages to repell several attacks with his scimitar and drives his blade through the chest of one. As he pulls out his blade he fires his pistol at a Githyanki moving in to strike, with a turn he takes aim at another but the shot is lost as a bolt manages to strip the pistol from his hand. Charles growls out loudly like any mighty dwarf would and pulls out another scimitar that was waiting for him around his belt and takes charge at three Githyanki.

In close strike to his targets the dwarf springs into the air to deliver a deadly strike to the Githyanki before him, but such a strike will not occur at this time. A shadowly blast collides into Charles chest and sends him tumbling across the deck. Before he can manage to get to his feet another erupts at him, although this time he finds himself bound by the shadows themselves; with a curse and spit he glares at whom was now right infront of him. The Cloaked Githyanki gives a small clap to the Captain as the Githyanki then quietly walks around the Captain studying him. With a turn to his minions he lets out a yell. "Find and take the passengers in the lower decks." Several Githyanki nod and depart below the ship's deck.

Suddenly the Navigator springs up from his hiding spot rushing towards the Cloaked Githyanki. "I... I brought you the passengers like you wanted...I can have this ship right? If I did what you wanted I can have this ship?" The Navigator nerviously sputters out. With a single motion he is sent to the deck by the gauntleted hand of the Githyanki then speaks with a grin "Yes.... this ship is yours..."

After a moment a line of prisoners are escorted from beneath the ship and taken aboard the Githyanki vessel, along with most of the Githyanki attackers. The Cloaked Githyanki inspects Captain Charles carefully before turning towards a Githyanki at the helm of the ship. "Send this vessel to its grave.." The Githyanki at the helm gives a stern nod. The ship adjusts itselff very so slightly, The new course leading the ship directly into a massive rock. The Cloaked Githyanki walks calmly towards his ship with Captain Charles being dragged along by two Githyanki.

The Githyanki vessel turns a hard right and disappears behind a clutter of debris; leaving as fast as it appeared. While the abandoned ship continues its doomed course. The Navigator stirs and groans slowly coming to bear. His head jerks up to see the ship strike against a rock, ripping and shredding the side; he lets out a long winded scream as the ship reduces to nothing more than another resident of the drifts.
